The 4th edition of the International Symposium “New Metropolitan Perspectives” faces the challenge of local development’s innovation dynamics and its complexity putting humankind at the centre of the scientific debate, towards reclaiming that “man is the measure of all things”.
In partnership with Rhegion United Nations 2020-2030. Territories and cities, material and immaterial heritage, resilience and transformations in the perspective of the 17 Sustainable Development UN Goals.

The Conference proceedings are art of the Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies book series of Springer.
- Edoardo Mollica Award
The award commemorates the figure and work of Edoardo Mollica – full Professor of Real Estate Appraisal and Valuation, pioneer in the field of Metropolitan Cities and economic policies in favor of the Inner Areas in particular Convergence Objective Regions. The EDOARDO MOLLICA AWARD encourages the participation of early career researchers in the scientific debate.
For young researchers (under age 35), Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidates, without a permanent university contract. Priority is given to participants coming from the Mediterranean Basin. The research topic should be in line with the purpose / activities of the ASTRI Association, which relate to the theme of sustainable development, cultural heritage, identity, inner areas or metropolitan cities. - International Design – Workshop/Competition Rhegion United Nations 2020-2030
The Workshop is an experimentation of recovery and redevelopment based on the UN 2020 – 2030 objectives of a territory with a strong natural value and rich in historical evidences such as the Metropolitan Area of Reggio Calabria. - “IMAGES from the FUTURE” – Valeria Morabito Award
The Contest is intended for young students in its broad definition. It aims to accompany the scientific and the cultural debate around the theme of future settlements and human relations, encouraging contamination between different perspectives.

The 2018 theme was Local Knowledge and innovation dynamics towards territory attractiveness through the implementation of Horizon/E2020/Agenda2030.
The book “New Metropolitan Perspectives” has been published by SPRINGER and is now available!
